Hoopfest, Hawaiian Ice and Homeruns oh my!

This weekend we played. Words can't really sum up how much fun we had, but we are exhausted and muscles are sore and ready to hug our pillows early tonight.

Jack and Cooper after a looooong day of Hoopfest and watching games!

Cooper watching Zack play basketball with Daddy.

You know you've done P90X too much when your 2 year old starts to impersonate you.....

Jack digging in to his 2nd Hawaiian ice of the day. MMMM good!

This was the start of the day....ready with bells on to watch some good ball...

Watching Daddy play.
Swinging with cousin Sean.

Playing T-ball with Trent or as Jack likes to call him "T".

It was a good weekend.

Long Summer Day

The laundry needed done today along with the dishes and a half dozen other chores but I made the conscious decision to look the other way and enjoy the day with the boys instead. We had so much fun and crammed in so many things like when I was a kid and every summer day seemed so long.

I loved it but am exhausted now! I guess the usual morning routine followed by a bike ride, playing at the park, lunch outside, playing t-ball, naps, basketball, building a giant Lego tunnel, ice cream, dinner and Aunt Maggie's softball game (along with the running of the bases) will do that to someone. Happy ending: it took 5 minutes for them both to fall asleep tonight!

sitting side by side in their rocking chairs...

maestro playing a tune for us...
and although it was a friendly game of HORSE in his bedroom, I think Jack was getting ready for hoopfest (checkout that form!!)

Fathers Day

Some dads go golfing on Father's Day, Some eat Breakfast in bed, some go out for a nice dinner or watch a sporting event... Flo helps with yard work on some body else's yard. After coffee, breakfast and church we visited with family at Roxanne and Greg's and Jack watched open mouthed for hours at the marvel of excavating! Uprooting trees, tractor rides, throwing rocks what more could he ask for? I am thinking we need to rent a bobcat for his birthday next year and spend the day giving rides!

Cooper and myself watching from the sidelines...

A boy and his buddy... anywhere Trent goes He is sure to have a little shadow!

Going for a ride in the bobcat! All boys love tractors!

Seeing the bobcat get delivered was better than Christmas for Jack!

Roxanne and her baby...

We will be talking about this at the dinner table all week!

Happy father's day Flo and Grandpa!

Resort Life

Back to reality after today...We loved Lake Chelan! Jack became a little fish in the water - a far cry from the banchee screams he exhibited the first day we tried to get him in the pool. One would have thought we were secretly pinching him under his trunks! Now he lets go of us completely and floats and kicks. HUGE.

We had a lot of fun in the sun as well, relaxing on the beach (Coops in his little cabana) and Branden doing some minimal work. The resort was the perfect set up for beach, pool, and adventures! I think its time to leave when we headed to the hot tub last night and we heard a coarus of "Cooper! Jack!" from a group of kids in the hot tub already. They were definitely the pair of ladies men to a certain group of 12 year old girls! Daddy was proud.

We are off to Grand Coulee, goodbye beautiful view!

Lake Chelan Mini-Vacation

First day in Lake Chelan for our mini family vacation and I will try not to rub it in for those of you stuck doing yard work all weekend...

The weather and the view are awesome! We have never been here but the town is super cute with lots of parks, lakes, miniature golf, shopping and our resort is right next to it all. Vacation mood all around, after catching the tail end of a concert in the park and sharing yummy ice cream (Cooper bathed in our strawberry cheesecake) we played at the lake and swam in our hotel pool. All in all, definite reward for making it through the 4 hour road trip with no ear plugs for the adults!

Aunt Jenny

I was Aunt Jenny for the whole day today...I watched my two little nieces along with Jack and Cooper and although I am super exhausted now, I had such a fun day! I figured out that being Aunt Jenny at times can be so much better than just being plain ol' Mom.

Aunt Jenny gives super cool piggy back rides, surprises with yummy treats, serves juice with lunch and lots of play time all day - no doing laundry, no vacuuming. I liked it. It was almost like my super hero persona. I shed my mommy persona and Aunt Jenny took over for the day. Although Cooper still thinks I hung the moon, Jack definitely road the coat tails of the fun times and I think was prompted into feeling a little better after an IHOP dinner and a DQ run. I just hope I can carry over some of my super powers into tomorrow... miss you Daddy!!

You can't tell they were having fun can you??

Chuck E Cheese

Something tells me we celebrated our first of many birthdays at the friendly rodents hangout... Complete with $10 side salads, deafening kids music and enough tokens and tickets to purchase a few pieces of penny candy at the price of an ipod touch, I have a feeling that Jack is going to be spending a few extra hours with the Sand Man tonight because he played so hard!

We had a blast celebrating Trent's 10th Birthday and every time we had a melt down moment today or I had to get Jack to do something even slightly unpleasant, I just had to remind him of T's Birthday party and he was more than willing to become my little yes man. I love party days! Even Cooper got on the Big Screen and danced around!

Just a few other pictures from this week of the boys and our daily life as well... Jack sharing his favorite tractor books with little brother (I loved this moment because I didn't even have to prompt or ask - win for me!)

Cooper starting to sit up (with just a little help) and on the verge of crawling. Mark my words, he is going to be a mover and a shaker once he figures it out!

A couple pictures from our afternoon at the park when Aunt Allison Came to town on Tuesday. So gorgeous out, couldn't ask for a nicer day and we have the farmers tan to prove it!
Time to sleep, mom out.
